A crisp white card from the ‘Wild Months’ collection. Each month features drawings and hand-written notes about what to look out for in the countryside that month. They are taken from the 2020 Wildlife Calendar.
The ‘January’ card features pencil and watercolour drawings of glorious waxwings feasting on rowan berries. Waxwings are occasional winter visitors to the UK from Scandinavia. If it’s a particularly cold year with limited food supplies, they travel over to the UK to raid our berries. These years are called ‘irruptions’. If you’re lucky, you might see a big group of them descend on your rowan tree. Their dramatic crest gives them a distinctive silhouette.
This card would make a lovely, unusual birthday card. It would also be a thoughtful way to mark an anniversary or a special occasion, or even the birth of a baby. The card is blank inside for your own message.
It is printed on lovely quality, sustainably sourced card, and comes with a nice white envelope. It is packaged in a 100% biodegradable cellophane envelope to keep it safe for posting. If you would like your card, or any other product, to be sent without a protective cellophane then just leave us a note at the check out.

ABOUT THE CARDS
All the cards are designed, manufactured and packaged by hand in the UK. They are printed on FSC approved card stock which means that it is sourced from sustainable mixed forests. The original drawings are done in pencil & watercolour. The designs are inspired by the rich variety of the British countryside. I believe it is important that people feel connected with the fields, hedgerows and woodlands around them. Only by loving and enjoying the countryside can we learn to care for it.
I love that when someone sends a card they are letting that person know they are valued. I like to imagine posties collecting and delivering the cards, and the journey the cards make by van and air and foot, landing on someone’s front door mat and making that person’s day. Are you planning on sending this card to someone special? Let me know when you leave a review!
